Brittany and Wes said “I do” a few months before these photos were taken in beautiful southeast Alaska on Chichagof Island. I’ve had always wanted to do a wedding or bridal session in southeast Alaska for so long and I finally got my opportunity. I hopped on a plane with my girlfriend and headed south from Fairbanks to Hoonah. We had our bridal session between rain showers in the late afternoon. The landscape was breathtaking, giant trees and abundant flora packed the northern rainforest terrain. The salty ocean breeze blew across the bay and up the hills. Brittany and Wes dressed up appropriately with Extra-Tuff boots under their wedding attire.
We were racing the weather, so we chose several close locations within walking distance, beginning in the trees and making our way to the wooden boat dock. Britt and Wes smiled the entire session and by the time we reached our last spot, they both felt so comfortable in front of the lens, it was like it wasn’t even there.
I loved shooting on Chichagof Island and in southeast, everything about it was amazing. The ocean, fishing, the landscapes, the rain and the sun, the company of humans and bears, everything that Alaska is…wild and free! The bridal session was the cherry on the top of a great trip!
Until next time!
