I suppose this is the part where I tell you I started taking photos and sipping coffee while also learning to walk... Trust me, I've heard the same thing so many times that I will spare you the pain.
To cut to the chase, I LOVE the photography and wedding world. I'm a creative at heart and love what I do and consider it a gift, truly. For me, it's always about the experience, as long as you are enjoying it all, it will shine through in the photographs. I know I've done my job when later down the road, your are reminded of not only what it felt like for you as the bride and groom, but also what it felt like through the eyes of your friends and family.
What I want to give you is more than just photos, because to me it's more than just a job. It's a privilege to be able to do this. To share, to inspire, and to remember is a gift. One of my goals as a photographer is to be invisible when I need to be, but also step in to keep everything moving forward, so you can get lost in the moment and soak up the richness without thinking about what to do next.
It's important that you're present, enjoying the day you've spent months planning. Making the memories and then after the party is over, you can hold those moments in your hands and re-live those times again and again.
I grew up feeding and watering horses, cattle, chickens, turkeys, and ducks. Driving tractors, horse teams, and throwing hay bales was part of the daily routine as a kid and still the smell of tilled soil brings back childhood memories.

Like many true Alaskans, fall is one of my favorite times of the year. When the frost accompanies the sunrise and the leaves start to change, it's time to go up into the mountains. Even when I'm hunting I still carry a camera.

The winters are long and when the spring appears, it's time to be outside in the sunshine. I think one of the coolest things about Alaska is the midnight sun and daylight 24/7. I love that it doesn't get dark at night in the summer!

Over the past couple of years I fell in love with running. Seeing how far you can push yourself to achieve a distance and pace is pure enjoyment for me. Even though there is lots of sweat, sore muscles, and tears, its one of my favorite things to do!
