Some sessions just have a feeling from the very first moment, and Megan and Clay’s farm engagement was one of those. We met on a warm summer evening in June surrounded by open fields, horses, and that long, glowing Alaska golden hour light that makes everything feel like a dream. The perfect recipe for an Alaska wedding photographer.
Megan and Clay were perfectly at home in worn boots and denim jackets. Together, relaxed, warm, and completely in love — and it showed in every single frame.

The horses were a highlight I’ll talk about for a long time. Watching Megan and Clay stand quietly beside them — forehead to nose, hands resting gently, brought out the most tender and unguarded moments of the whole evening. Alaska mountains towered in the background and added that beautiful old west feel to the evening’s magic.
We wrapped up with the two of them in the bed of a classic pickup truck as the sun melted into the fields behind them. Golden backlight, long shadows, the soft sounds of a summer farm at dusk. It was the kind of ending that feels too beautiful to be real… and yet, there it is, right there in the photos.

One of the greatest gifts of being an Alaska wedding photographer is our summer light. Golden hour stretches on for over an hour, giving us a warm, cinematic glow that’s nearly impossible to replicate anywhere else. Pair that with wide-open farm land and two people who adore each other, and the photos practically make themselves.
