Spring Maternity Session

Danielle and Chris will be welcoming their first child the end of the month! This early spring session was obviously super special for me as Chris is my brother, which makes that bump my nephew/niece! Soon, we will have another member added to our family which is awesome and I can’t wait. Whenever I photograph a young, growing family, I always notice the excitement and anticipation that they hold of the future. I saw that same energy when I photographed Danielle and Chris as they wait expectantly for their little bundle of joy to arrive.

I will admit, the lighting of the first location was definitely a challenge. We shot on an highway with wide open fields on either side, the Granite Range mountains in the distance, in extremely harsh and direct sunlight. The spring snow lended for a reflector which helped create beautiful portraits. The second location was one that caught my eye when we were walking to photograph the baby boots. The sun had just dipped down low enough to create that evening glow and after a few test shots we had some beautiful evening family and maternity portraits.
